That depends on your state and we are not going to be vague about it. Plate covers are banned outright in California, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York and Washington, and most remaining states restrict them in some form. If you live somewhere we cannot ship, we will tell you at checkout rather than take your money.

Your license plate is made of retroreflective sheeting, the same principle as a bike reflector, so it throws light straight back at whatever lit it. Plate readers use that on purpose. They shine an invisible infrared beam from a lamp next to the lens and read the bounce, not an ordinary photograph. The VeyroNova IR Plate Cover is engineered to absorb that infrared before it can return, while staying completely clear in the light your eyes use.

The reason most covers attract attention is that they are tinted, so the plate looks dark or unreadable to a person standing at an angle. Ours is optically clear, so your plate looks normal from every angle a human would see it from. Be straight with yourself about the law though. In a state that bans covers of any kind, including clear ones, this is still a violation.

No, and anyone who tells you it does is selling you something. Flock builds what it calls a vehicle fingerprint from your color, make, model, stickers and roof rack, whether or not it reads the plate. What a cover addresses is the plate number, which is the one field the system is searched by. That is a real and specific thing. It is not invisibility, and we will never describe it that way.
